Introduction

Intelligent Video Management Server (IVMS) receives the video from the IP-cameras or Encoders, records the video (either motion based or continuous) in the Network Attached Storages or in local hard disks and streams the video to the IVMS Clients for Live View. It receives the PTZ control commands from the Video Surveillance Client application and accordingly issues commands to the cameras. One can connect to the IVMS server by logging in with Admin privilege to configure various components (Storage, Cameras, etc) and services (Recording, Events, etc) using Video Surveillance Client application.

To get the Intelligent Video Management Server (IVMS) operational, the following software should be installed in this order:

Installation of Videonetics IVMS product:

Double Click on the following file available in the IVMS CD/DVD Media or Shared Link

• IVMS-1.3.0.0.exe

Follow the on-screen instructions described below:

Videonetics IVMS software consists of more than one Server software components. You can choose to install one or more components in a single physical server or Virtual machine. You are also free to install the components in multiple servers,, one component in each server, is a distributed fashion. Please consult Videonetics Server sizing document to know the minimum computational and memory requirement for installing the software components. You have the following tailor-made options to choose from:

• IVMS Server System, where all components of Videonetics IVMS software will be installed including DBMS (without HA and Backup service).
• Master server , Media Server
• Master  Server *
• Media Server 
• Video Analytics Server 
  • IVMS Client 

• ______________________________________________________________________
  * Install this component for both Master server as well as Auxiliary server

  NOTE: DBMS is a mandatory component of the system. If you have not chosen option 1 above, you need to install DBMS software in a server grade machine, and set VMS configuration accordingly. Currently MySQL and MSSQL DBMS are supported. Please consult the following document for installation and configuration of DBMS.

This page will appear when you have installed “Master and Media Server”

N.B:Please restart the server system after installation has been completed.

After installing IVMS server, collect hardware information file from installed directory and mail to license@videonetics.com to get full version license key.  It is installed with Demo license (30 days, with limited capability).

After Successful execution of IVMS Server / Master Server, this page will open in the browser

 During Server configuration through Web browser, do not use loopback IP address ( 127.0.0.1) against  Database IP field. Please use interface IP address. For Example: 192.168.1.100.

Installation of IVMS Media Server:

After Successful execution of Single IVMS / IVMS Media Server, you can change the required parameters through web browser. Please browse below url: http://127.0.0.1:8082

In case you have installed “Media Server” component only during media server configuration through Web, do not use Primary VMS IP. Please use interface IP address. For Example: 192.168.1.200.

Note: If there is one Master Server, please set the Same IP in Primary and Auxiliary Master Server.

You can update the package with commercial license any day within 30 days from the date of installation. Here are the steps to be carried out to get the Licensed version of the software.

1. An encrypted key with hardware information has been generated as a file “hwinfo.v2a” in the folder “License” located in the installation directory of IVMS.
2.  Please send this file to license@videonetics.comor communicate to the contact person of the vendor to get a valid License key for the software.

Please update the existing “activation.v2a” by the valid activation key which will be sent by Videonetics Team.

To take effect of the new activation key, System Reboot is required.

Update IVMS Server

Note: Only that component will be updated which is already installed in your system.

 Double Click on the file “IVMS-1.3.0.0.exe” available in the IVMS CD/DVD/Web link media. Follow the on-screen instructions

If server process is already running, then the following message will pop-up and installation will be terminated. Then you must re-click on “IVMS-1.3.0.0.exe”.

Installation of Additional components:

•  Database Backup Service
•  Web and Mobile access framework

Database Backup service

Double Click on the following file available in the CD/DVD Media or Shared Link

• Database Backup Service-1.0.0.0.exe

Follow the on-screen instructions described below

Now you can choose your directory where you want to install your software. To install Videonetics DBMS Backup Service, minimum 50 MB spaces is required. Please note that this does not include the space required to back up the database.

Installation of Videonetics Web and Mobile Framework Service

Double Click on the following file available in the CD/DVD Media or Shared Link

• Videonetics Web and Mobile access framework-1.0.0.0.exe

Follow the on-screen instructions described below

Now you can choose your directory where you want to install your software. To install Videonetics Web and Mobile Service, minimum 100 MB spaces is required. Please note that this does not include the space required to generate TS or MP4 file.
