VIVOTEK camera going to factory default automatically while connected

Modified on Wed, 23 Aug, 2017 at 9:49 PM

The camera will go factory default mode due to the following scenarios:

  • Using VIVOTEK Tool “Installation Wizard/SHEPHERD” can reset the camera factory default settings.
  • If power supply not stable for continuously few min [i.e., switch OFF/ON] then the camera may go to factory default settings
  • If software sending any factory default CGI command to the camera
  • When the power fluctuation at network switch, if the switch unable to send the original IP to the camera

Solution:

  • VIVOTEK team to provide the special firmware which will keep the static IP address always same even though the camera goes to Factory default mode by above specified reasons.
  • All the cameras should have username/password
  • Only Admin should have the VIVOTEK IW2/Shepherd tool
  • Need to keep the camera details like MAC ID assigned IP address, location name etc., in excel sheet. So that if any problem it is very easy to identify and resolve the problem in very less time.
